In therapy, a person is able to openly express his or her thoughts and feelings without judgement. Therapists assist clients with identifying unhealthy or destructive patterns of thinking and behaving in order to increase self-awareness. At New Insight, our philosophy is awareness + change = growth. By building a relationship with my clients, I will help you stay motivated and on-task, helping you move toward your desired goals.
Every client must be ready and willing to start the process of therapy and healing. This means being motivated and committed to making positive changes; being consistent and focused on progress rather than stagnation
All potentials clients should contact Dr. Cannady via phone, text or email. Upon initial contact, client will discuss desired service and an appointment will be made. Depending on availability, some services may be rendered the same day.
Absolutely! Therapy can definitely help you. It is important to remember that therapy is a collaborative process . Both the client and therapist have a responsibility to make sure that it is beneficial and effective. Clients are encouraged to be open and transparent, actively engaged in their sessions, consistent and receptive to making positive changes.
Clients can talk about anything of importance to them and specifically as it relates to the problem that prompted them to seek counseling. Therapists ask questions about the client's day to day roles and responsibilities, life stressors and how these stressors have affected them. Clients should also be prepared to discuss their strengths and weaknesses and counseling goals.
